This April 2021, Meltemi successfully won the tender to supply Liverpool University Hospitals Foundation Trust (LUHFT) with their new healthcare NHS uniform. Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust was created on 1 October 2019 following the merger of two adult acute Trusts, Aintree University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust, and it was our pleasure to re-imagine a bespoke uniform that united the two trusts. In total we will be re-uniforming 8,000 wearers with 60,000 garments, and we will be commencing distribution this December.
Meltemi has been a trusted supplier of the Aintree location for a number of years now, and it is our pleasure to expand our services across their sister site. The aim was to standardise the uniform and unify the institutions, whilst simultaneously extending a small gesture of thanks to the staff, after what has possibly been the toughest two years of their careers.

“Following an in-depth consultation process, Meltemi was chosen as Liverpool University Hospitals preferred uniform manufacturer to standardise our clinical and patient-facing admin uniforms. After our two hospital Trusts merged we wanted to ensure that our patients and staff could easily identify clinical roles across all our hospital sites.
Initially, Meltemi helped us provide staff with a range of styles to choose from in a variety of colour options. They supported us in gathering the correct uniform sizes from our staff - taking into consideration the different fits and fabrics. As well as collating a list of job roles to embroider onto the final smart scrub-style tops.
We have also worked closely with Meltemi to ensure any special measurements, maternity uniforms or requirements, including religious or cultural needs, are catered for. The team at Meltemi have assisted us throughout the process, advising us on any amendments we could make and colour changes we required.
LUHFT’s new uniforms are now being rolled out around all our hospital sites, ensuring all our uniforms are standardised across our Trust."
