As a part of the larger effort, Alsico Group partners with Better Cotton to improve cotton farming globally.
A member of the Better Cotton since 2021, Alsico Group aims to source all its fibres in a sustainable way by the end of this decade. As part of this effort we are committed to sourcing 100% of our cotton as ‘more sustainable cotton’ by 2030. ‘More sustainable cotton’ includes recycled cotton, organic cotton, cotton sourced from Fairtrade or through Better Cotton.
The sustainable sourcing of cotton is part of our goal to increase overall use of sustainably sourced fibres, such as certified recycled polyester and low impact man-made fibres. The ultimate goal is to increase overall recycled content in our products as a means to lower our ecological footprint and decouple growth from the use of resources.
Better Cotton is sourced via a chain of custody model called mass balance. This means that better cotton is not physically traceable to end products. However, Better Cotton farmers benefit from the demand for Better Cotton in equivalent volumes to those we ‘source’.
By choosing products from Alsico you are supporting responsible cotton production through Better Cotton.

A selection of the areas we are constantly reviewing are the free choice of employment, working conditions, child labour, living wages, working hours and gender equality. These are important topics which are of great important to us through our entire supply chain, from our fibre manufactures and mills, to our factories, warehouses and our own UK offices.
