Garment Care, Sizing and Embroidery

Care

All our garments are designed to stay looking good throughout their life, but to achieve this you will need to follow the wash and care instructions on the label inside each garment.

Professional tips for great looking garments

  • Wash garments frequently - it means that grime and odours cannot become ingrained in the fabric. Use fabric conditioners sparingly - overuse can make fabrics limp and have a heavy, sticky feel.
  • Dry polo shirts, knitwear and stretch tops on a flat surface if you can and re-shape them whilst still damp - all knitted fabrics can be distorted easily.
  • Dry clean jackets, trousers and skirts occasionally - it really helps to keep them looking crisp and smart.
  • Tumble dry as little as possible - the abrasion caused by it means that susceptible garments will pill and fade more easily.
  • Hang your jacket on a hanger even in the office - backs of chairs can distort the shape and fabric is prone to impact damage.

We want you to get the very best from the garments you choose and will be pleased to provide further advice. You can contact us for more help on 01603 731 330 or email: sales@meltemi.co.uk

Sizing

A perfect fit not only ensures a flattering look and comfort, but also helps prolong the life of your garments.  Wearers can be petite, regular or tall despite their UK sizing, so we have made many garments in three fittings. To avoid disappointment and to ensure you order garments that are the right size, please refer to the sizing chart below.

Professional tips for choosing the best size for you

  • Think about your working role and ensure that you take into account the need to stretch and bend in the size that you choose
  • Don't choose a smaller size than you need on the basis that you will lose weight to fit into it - tight garments are uncomfortable and do not wear as well as a good fit.
  • Over large garments can be a safety hazard if they drag on the floor or catch on obstacles - a good fit will help to avoid these dangers and wear better too.
  • Ask someone else to measure you if necessary and ensure that you stand up straight.
  • Take measurements wearing only underwear and do not add to your measurements for ease of movement - we add this in the garment pattern.
