Alterations and Specials

We can alter stock garments by shortening, or make garments outside our standard sizes to your individual measurements or to meet cultural requirements - long sleeves, head covering etc.

Alterations - Shortening stock garments:
Trousers, tunics, unlined skirts and dresses: £2.50
Lined skirts: £3.50
Jacket Sleeves: £5.50

Specials:

Special garments can normally be delivered within 20 working days. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.

Large Sizes and Specials

Some larger sizes and all specials are subject to surcharges. Please select a garment and size and the correct price will be shown. For specials or additional sizes, please contact us for further details.

Please note: all personalised, amended or special garments are non-returnable.

Sizing & Issue Services

For organisations clothing a large number of staff or students we offer two options to assist sizing. Accurate sizing prior to order helps to ensure a good fit and a reduction in returns.

Sizing Sets:

Full sizing sets can be created in your selected garments and offered on loan throughout the duration of sizing. We can also create bespoke sizing forms for your organisation to aid easy ordering.

Sizing/Issue Sessions:

For a large group, our experienced sizing team can offer a fully managed sizing session at your location for up to 400 staff/students per day. We can return to issue garments to individual wearers or despatch garments in the usual way. There is a charge for these services - please contact us on 01603 731330 for further details.

Size Guide

A good fit not only improves appearance and comfort, but also helps prolong the life of your garments. Wearers vary in height so we have made many garments in three height fittings. To avoid disappointment and to ensure you order garments that are the right size, please refer to the sizing chart below.

Professional tips for choosing the best size

Think about your working role and ensure that you can stretch and bend in the size you choose
Don't choose a smaller size on the basis you will lose weight - tight garments are uncomfortable and do not last
Over large garments can be a safety hazard if they drag on the floor or catch on obstacles
Ask someone else to measure you if necessary and ensure that you stand up straight
The chart below is based on your body measurements. Do not add to your measurements for ease of movement - we add this in the garment pattern.
